Yahya Dai's musical journey began with the recorder and developed with the entire saxophon family, flute and EWI. For a long time he worked with Tuna Ötenel in Ankara, then with Tomasz Szukalski at the Bilkent University Jazz Department and later with Janusz Sprot and Alan Ginter. He was a member of the Ankara Manucipality City Orchestra and a guest artist of the Turkish Republic Symphony Orchestra. He joined L."Butch" Morris' Conducting Improvisation concerts and jam'd with Marcus Miller, Aydin Esen, Danilo Perez, Okay Temiz, Neset Ruacan and Bugge Wesseltoft. He recorded with Önder Focan, Acid Trippin, Oguz Büyükberber, Derya Köroglu, Pasaporte Latino, Janet&Jak Esim and also plays with Asiaminor, Askin Arsunan, Cahit Berkay and Beck's Big Band. Since 2002 he has been a member of the Ayse Tütüncü Piano Perc. Ensemble and since 2004, of the Ayse Tütüncü Trio, playing on her album Carnivalesque.
