After a childhood wholeheartedly devoted to painting and
poetry, Büyükberber began practising music by himself. As
a child with very poor eye-sight from birth, he was accustomed
to defying his limits. Within a very short period, having
graduated from university where he read design, he was already
making his living out of his bass clarinet. To-date he has
over 20 CD appearences including two solo albums to his name,
has worked together with artists like Lawrence "Butch" Morris,
Craig Harris and Brooklyn Funk Essentials, has received
three "Best instrumentalist" awards, and played at various
international festivals. Since 1997 he has played with the
Ayse Tütüncü Piano Perc. Ensemble and since 2004, with her
Trio, appearing on both her albums Variations and Carnivalesque.
Without forgetting his roots, he prefers to compose an open
musical life for himself, with a range from still life to
abstract. "Contemporary to ethnic, compositional to free".
